dont on se souviendra it jamais, meme dans le plus pro fond silence.
I was so honoured to have met Sarane. I was in Paris in 1999 and bought his book on Jacques Herold. I took the opportunity to telephone him and, introducing myself as a friend of José Pierre, arranged a meeting. Knowing the meeting would be in French I was a bit nervous because my language skills are slightly limited, but I went to his apartment and surrounded by Dorothea Tanning and Victor Brauner paintings we managed a most cordial talk., When he offered to include a work of mine in the final edition of the 20th Century for Supériore Inconnu, I was absolutely elated. The fact that he started the journal the year I was born, 1947, was also interesting. The focus on esoteric subjects in relation to Surrealism made me decide to send him “The Father C.R.C. Memorial, an acrylic on panel from 1975. It was published later in 1999 and I later included him and the journal entry in my film A New Arcadia from 2003.
